Ken Kaisch

Finding Belonging in the Mystery

Dr. Ken Kaisch is a retired Priest and Clinical Psychologist.  He was ordained in the Episcopal Diocese of Utah in 1977 and served as a parish priest there for nine years.  While in Utah, he earned his master’s and doctoral degrees in clinical psychology at Utah State University.  Ken moved to Southern California to follow his wife’s work and established a private practice as a psychologist in Fullerton.

Ken has a deep and abiding interest in spiritual transformation.  In 1986, he founded OneHeart, a community dedicated to teaching and practicing Christian forms of meditation and contemplative prayer in Southern California.  He has written several books on the subject; the latest, Inside the Invisible: The Universal Path to Spiritual Transcendence, was published in January 2025.

His spiritual formation has been shaped by teachers from many different religions, and he has received personal instruction from Father Tom Keating, OCSO, His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Bishop Kallistos Ware, Srimata Gayatri Devi, Imam Qaisar Shabir, Rabbi Zalman Schacter-Shalomi and many others.  He continues to teach about the spiritual life in his newsletter, Inside the Invisible.

He retired to Nipomo, California, a small agricultural community, where he lives with his wife, Susan, and Maggie, the Wonder-Dog.
